Energy’s Crossroad: Pinedale, Wyoming
Energy isn’t just facts and numbers. It intersects our lives everyday, affecting how we experience the world. While many of us see the benefits of energy first hand, from our consumption and utilization of it to make our lives easier, some people experience the production, acquisition and transportation of energy in their communities. The Energy Crossroads series of the Rational Middle looks at these points where energy and people meet, and talk to the everyday citizens whose lives are impacted by development and production of energy.
When an energy boom hits a small town in western Wyoming in 2007, the town benefits from the boom of natural gas development while experiencing the challenges that arise from increased traffic, population, and demands on the towns resources. Watch how the citizens of Pinedale managed the strain and gained the advantages in this short vignette.
