While many of us see the benefits of energy first hand, from our consumption and utilization of it to make our lives easier, some people experience the production, acquisition and transportation of energy in their communities. The Energy Crossroads series of the Rational Middle looks at these points where energy and people meet, and talk to the everyday citizens whose lives are impacted by development and production of energy.

In the remote Canadian community of Dawson Creek, an energy boom has arrived and prospered. But when the risk of water scarcity arose, the community and industry began to work together to find a way to prevent drilling activity from negatively impacting this precious resource.
