Dr. Ramanan Krishnamoorti

Dr. Ramanan Krishnamoorti is Interim Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology Transfer for the UH System and Interim Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer for UH, a role he assumed in July 2015. Dr. Krishnamoorti has oversight responsibilities for the Division of Research, and various centers and institutes that report to the Division of Research. He also holds the position of chief energy officer at the University of Houston since February 2013, leading the university’s efforts to establish energy-centered partnerships on an industry and university level to address the world’s most pressing energy challenges.
During his tenure at the university, he has served as a department chair of the UH Cullen College of Engineering’s chemical and biomolecular engineering, associate dean of research for engineering, professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering with affiliated appointments as professor of petroleum engineering and professor of chemistry. Dr. Krishnamoorti obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University in 1994.
