An entrepreneur and business owner from an early age, Maury Dobbie founded and operated six diverse companies including an award-winning multimedia production and events company producing television shows and ads, training videos, website development, event services and marketing. For a number of years, Dobbie was the President/CEO of an economic development corporation in northern Colorado. Following the economic development work, in 2011 she was appointed Assistant Director for the Center for the New Energy Economy under the leadership of former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter as the Center built a highly respected reputation in advancing clean energy policy with states. Maury was hired as the Executive Director of the Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory July 2016 while splitting her time between the Center and the Collaboratory. Since 2008, the Collaboratory is a successful energy research partnership between CU Boulder, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University and National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Appointed on state boards and commissions by three different Colorado Governors, Maury most recently termed out after 8 years serving on the Colorado Community College System board overseeing 13 community colleges in 38 different locations in the state. She was board chair during parts of her tenure. Maury will continue as the Executive Director of the Collaboratory while serving part-time as External Engagement Administrator for the Energy Institute.
